Malawi: Tobacco Revenue Reaches U.S.$358 Million

Malawi's tobacco industry has had overwhelming revenue with the currently hitting over $358 million.

According to the Tobacco Control Commission (TCC), the sum has been realized since the markets was opened earlier this year in June.

Reports from the Auction Holdings Limited stated that, Malawi had accumulated about US$138 million from the last tobacco sales at the auction floors.

Since the market started, more than 100 000 million kilograms of tobacco have been sold together with barley worth 90.1 million Kilograms with flue cured selling 7.5 million kilograms, and the remaining Kilograms for the dark fired. Enditem
