<strong>China: First Cooperatives Union of Tobacco Growers in Shandong Province Established</strong>

The first cooperatives union of tobacco growers in east China's Shandong Province -- Yongsheng Specialized Cooperatives Union of Tobacco Growers -- was established in Zhucheng of Weifang City in Shandong recently, after undergoing registration with the local administration for industry and commerce.

Yongsheng Specialized Cooperatives Union of Tobacco Growers was established on the basis of voluntary incorporation of six specialized cooperatives of tobacco growers in Zhucheng, including Mengyou, Yuejia and Xinxing Specialized Cooperatives of Tobacco Growers.

The cooperatives union is mainly intended to provide its members with technical information service concerning market operation and production management; purchase means needed for agricultural production; organize sales of farm produce of diversified operation by member cooperatives; coordinate the zoning of service, the scope of service and the pricing of service among member cooperatives; and operate various types of technological exchange, vocational training, service provision, etc. Enditem
