<strong>China: City Tobacco Company Holds Enlarged Meeting on Political Study</strong>

The Communist Party committee at Qujing City Tobacco Company in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held on June 30 an enlarged meeting of its central group to study the spirits of a series of speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the relevant theories on activities of education on and practice in the CPC's mass line.

The meeting was intended to promote the launch by Qujing City Tobacco Company of activities of education on and practice in the CPC's mass line, enhance the capacity of the company to provide service for the grassroots level and the masses of the people, and promote scientific development of the company.

At the meeting, Wu Lizhu, secretary of the Communist Party committee at Qujing City Tobacco Company and director and general manager of the company, which doubles as Qujing City Tobacco Monopoly Administration, delivered an important speech. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yi, member of the Communist Party committee at Qujing City Tobacco Company and deputy director of the company.

Also speaking at the meeting, Xie Yingguai, member of the Communist Party committee at Qujing City Tobacco Company, secretary of the Communist Party Discipline Inspection Committee at the company and the company's Trade Union chairman, made arrangements for the relevant work of education on and practice in the CPC's mass line. Other members of the Communist Party committee at Qujing City Tobacco Company, and inspectors and deputy inspectors of the company also attended the meeting.

In the speech, Wu required all Communist Party members and cadres to practically promote the operation of activities of education on and practice in the CPC's mass line; to translate achievements in the activities into "performance for the people, pragmatism and incorruptness"; and to embody achievements in the activities in promoting scientific development of Qujing City Tobacco Company, making the company outstanding, strengthening its capacity and setting up a fine image of the company.

Wu also required all Communist Party members of the company to further shift their working style; to firmly keep in mind the mass viewpoint; to raise their work proficiency; to enhance their capacity of creation; and to practically realize "performance for the people, pragmatism and incorruptness".

At the meeting, leaders of the tobacco monopoly administrations in Xuanwei City, Malong County and Luoping County of Qujing City respectively delivered speeches on activities of education on and practice in the mass line of the CPC.

Also present at the meeting were managers of the local tobacco subcompanies, the directors of the county-level tobacco monopoly administrations in Qujing City and middle-level cadres with Qujing City Tobacco Company. Enditem
