<strong>China: STMA Urges Tobacco Industry to Control Production of Leaf Tobacco</strong>

In 2014, China leaf tobacco production is generally overheating, and China is facing the serious situation of excess-planting. On June 9, the Sate Tobacco Monopoly Administration issued an urgent Notice, and required all the tobacco monopoly bureaus of the tobacco planting areas to optimize the structure of leaf tobacco, and really control the leaf tobacco production within the acquisition target, ensure that leaf tobacco works is carried out smoothly.

The Notice stressed that for the current grim situation of tobacco leaf production, it is a difficult task, the tobacco departments at various levels shall execute strictly supervision and inspection, ensure that the tobacco production is controlled within requirement. Enditem
