Cuba: In Camaguey, Tobacco Growers Will Produce for Export

With notable overproduction of tobacco for the national consumption in several cigar bands and with perspectives for export, the tobacco growers in Camaguey celebrate their day on May 29, 103rd anniversary of the birth of Lazaro Peña, Cuban trade union leader who worked in this traditional office.

More than 750 tobacco growers in this city celebrate the historical event with positive performance in the factories "Rolando Valdivia", of Florida, and that of Hatuey.

The provincial ceremony for the Tobacco Worker Day, take place today in the municipality of Guaimaro, some 80 km east of the city of Camagüey, recognized as best unit of the Tobacco Company in the province.

According to Onelio Collado Rodriguez, director of the entity, Camaguey people must twist more than 11 million of tobacco for the national consumption, and for the first time, 750 thousand will be for export. Enditem
