The expert commented that to palliate the sequels of adverse meteorological conditions the tobacco growers will be planting seeds until the coming month of February, one month above the scheduled plan initially. Without giving up their aspirations of achieving a good crop, the tobacco producers of Vueltabajo, as the province of Pinar del Rio is popularly known, are taking extreme measures in the fields to obtain tobacco leaves of quality and in the expected quantities. According to the Cuban expert, the recovery measures are covering the municipalities of San Luis and San Juan y MartÃnez, famous for the excellence of their tobacco leaves. Distant 140 kilometers far from Havana, Pinar del Rio will cover more than 37,807 acres, according to the established program for the current tobacco plantation and harvest. Enditem |
