<strong>China: Tobacco Research Institute of CAAS Cooperates with Baoshan Tobacco Industry</strong>

On December 26, a delegation from Yunnan Baoshan Tobacco Company, led by deputy general manager Yang Zhongyi, visited tobacco research institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) to discuss cooperation. Zhang Zhongfeng，deputy director of the tobacco research institute attend the meeting and delivered a speech, two sides reached a agreement on further deepen cooperation.

In recent years, through the project cooperation, carrying out research and building bases, expanding areas of cooperation, enriching the content of cooperation, both sides achieved good results: the successful completion of the joint declaration national key project "Baoshan Special Quality Leaf Tobacco Quality Safety Control Technology Research and Organic Leaf Tobacco Development", won the prize of scientific and technological progress of STMA; shared Baoshan city key project "Baoshan Virginia Tobacco Quality and Safety System Establishment and Application", and won the prize of scientific and technological progress in yunnan province. At the same time, two sides carried out work on Gaoligong mountains ecological leaf tobacco development, and gold corridor ecological farm construction, Hongda variety characteristics curing process, stem and root pest comprehensive prevention and control technology and so on. The two sides jointly built four national special tobacco planting bases, and promoted the local production technology level.

For the next step, the two sides will take tasks of construction of Baoshan Tobacco Raw Material Lab, joint test bases and so on, through collaborative innovation, technology integration, talent training, popularization of science and technology demonstration and special advantage agricultural research and development, two sides will carry out multi-level and multi-channel, many forms of cooperation and communication.
