<strong>China: Hainan Provides Subsidies for Tobacco Insurance</strong>

On November 19, Hainan Jianheng Havana Cigar Co. Ltd Danzhou Branch Office has purchased insurance for its cigar leaf tobacco from People's Insurance Company of China. The amount of money protected by insurance is 2.967 million yuan, and the insurance fee is 0.178 million yuan. The leaf tobacco insurance belongs to local insurance police, and the provincial government provided 60 percent policy fee for the police.

During the period of insurance, if insurance tobacco encountered wind magnitude 8 and above of tropical cyclone or strong convective weather, heavy rain, flood (except government administrative storage), waterlogging, debris flow, landslide, hail and other disasters, and hence occurred loss, tobacco farmers can get the corresponding compensation.
