China: County Magistrate Inspects State Leaf Tobacco Purchase

Magistrate Lu Pinhong of Luoping County in Qujing City of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province led a delegation to inspect the work of State leaf tobacco purchase at several leaf tobacco stations in Banqiao and Luoxiong Townships of the county on September 2, checking various processes of State leaf tobacco purchase and making requirements for work improvements.

Lu Pinhong doubles as a deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Luoping County Committee. The delegation also included Xiong Jianliang, member of the Standing Committee and secretary of the Politics and Law Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Luoping County Committee, and Gui Jinhai and Su Xiaoting, both deputy magistrates of Luoping County.

At the Jinji leaf tobacco purchase point in Banqiao Township, the delegation carefully checked the various processes of State leaf tobacco purchase and the State purchase of leaf tobacco of all grades there, chatting with local tobacco growers to elaborately learn about their leaf tobacco sales, grading in leaf tobacco sales, pricing, service provision, etc. The tobacco growers replied that in 2013, their leaf tobacco crops were in robust growth, that the quality of their leaf tobacco cured is very high, and that they were quite satisfied with grading of leaf tobacco in State purchase.

Afterwards, the delegation respectively went to Shiniujiao leaf tobacco purchase point, Shuigou leaf tobacco purchase point and Luoxiong leaf tobacco purchase point in Banqiao Township to check the work of State leaf tobacco purchase there. Lu Pinhong required all leaf tobacco purchase stations to earnestly do a good job of leaf tobacco preliminary inspection, re-inspection and grading, to strictly follow the criteria for State leaf tobacco purchase, to well implement the standards governing State leaf tobacco purchase, and to always manage to maintain stable purchase of leaf tobacco, in order to well maintain the interests of local tobacco growers.
