<strong>China: Tobacco Subcompany Holds Meeting on Disposition of Unusable Tobacco</strong> Source from: TobaccoChina Online 09/02/2013 ![]() Shizong County Tobacco Subcompany in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held a meeting on optimization of the structure of leaf tobacco and on field disposition of unusable upper fresh leaf tobacco on August 20, to sum up field disposition of lower leaf tobacco in a past period of time, and to make plans for field disposition of upper leaf tobacco in a next period of time. Shizong County Deputy Chief Yin Yichun and Shizong County Tobacco Subcompany Manager Wu Jian attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting was chaired by Shizong County Tobacco Industry Office Director Kang Yongxian. The meeting pointed out that staged achievements have been made in the work of optimizing the structure of leaf tobacco in Shizong County so far in 2013, and that the work of field disposition of lower unusable leaf tobacco in optimization of leaf tobacco in Shizong County had come to an end on July 18, with the disposition of lower unusable leaf tobacco totaling 15,700 tons, and with the distribution of subsidies totaling 12.5657 million yuan (2 million U.S. dollars). The participants in the meeting included the chiefs of the tobacco-growing townships in the county, other leaders in charge of the work of leaf tobacco production, leaders of the county tobacco subcompany, the chiefs or secretaries of the local leaf tobacco stations, and leaders of the leaf tobacco production section and tobacco monopoly office of the local government.
