<strong>China: HongyunHonghe Meets on Leaf Tobacco Threshing, Redrying Technologies</strong>

HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – held on May 22-24 a meeting on leaf tobacco threshing, redrying and processing technologies exchange, training and work summarization, summing up the achievements already made and urging continued efforts to make greater successes.

Participating in the meeting were more than 30 people including HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO Gu Hong, Assistant to the CEO Wang Shaokun, Honghe Cigarette Factory Deputy Director Li Bin, and relevant leaders from the Technology Center and Raw Materials Department of HongyunHonghe, Production Department No. 1 of Kunming Cigarette Factory, the Leaf Tobacco Redrying Department of Honghe Cigarette Factory and Qujing Tianfu Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company.

At the meeting, Deputy Director Li Yungui of the Raw Materials Department delivered a report on the work of leaf tobacco redrying, entitled Be Practical, Keep Forging Ahead, Fulfill Duty, Realize Devotion and Strive to Promote the Level of Guarantee of Raw Materials Processing for the Development of Competitive Brands of HongyunHonghe.

HongyunHonghe particularly invited Dr. Zhang Jianping, a well-known expert with the tobacco industry of China, to give a lecture at a training session of the meeting, under the exclusive subject of Consideration and Exploration of Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Technology Innovation, making in-depth explanation of leaf tobacco threshing and redrying technologies in the respects of technological innovation, core quality assessment, uniformity of the quality, technology optimization and core competitiveness.

At the meeting, the representatives from the Technology Center of HongyunHonghe expounded on the importance and status quo of the business of leaf tobacco threshing and redrying on the part of China's tobacco industry, HongyunHonghe's crucial technologies for leaf tobacco threshing and redrying, efforts to solve hard technological problems hereof, orientation of development of the business of leaf tobacco threshing and redrying, key points in future work hereof, etc.

Meanwhile, the representatives from Production Department No. 1 of Kunming Cigarette Factory, the Leaf Tobacco Redrying Department of Honghe Cigarette Factory, Qujing Tianfu Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company, etc respectively delivered reports on experience and successes in this endeavor, under the titles of Application and Processing in Compliance With the Essential Characteristics of Raw Materials, Application of Characteristic Technologies and Techniques for Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying, Application of Technologies and Techniques for Three-Stage Slitting and Modular Blending, Honghe's Major Formula Blending and Threshing for Redrying and Serial Technologies Hereof, Improvement of Quality, Innovation and Quarantee, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO Gu Hong pointed out that HongyunHonghe is steadily promoting the execution of the project of relocation and technological transformation of its six leaf tobacco threshing and redrying lines. However, more time is still needed before formal entry into operation of the six lines.

He expressed the hope that all redrying subsidiaries of HongyunHonghe will base themselves on the existing equipment, manage to overcome temporary difficulties, and go all out to ensure both quality and quantity in fulfilling all production assignments. Enditem
