Kenya: Tobacco Farmers Demand Factory Source from: The Star 04/03/2013 ![]() Over 20,000 tobacco farmers in Migori have asked the county government to help identify investors for the setting up of a factory as pledged during campaigns to the March 4 elections.
Through the Kenya Tobacco Farmers Association, the farmers said Migori governor Zachary Obado and his deputy Mwita Mahanga should help speed up the investment. They have also asked senator Wilfred Machage and women's representative Dennitah Ghati who are from Kuria to help identify investors. "Migori has 20,000 out of 35,000 farmers across the country and the investment will increase government revenue and employment opportunities," Joseph Wanguhu, Ketofa CEO, said. Enditem |
