Malawi: High Demand for Flue Cured Tobacco at Auction Floors

Flue cured tobacco growers are poised for increased earnings this year as demand for this type of tobacco is said to be high on the international market.

For example, last Friday flue cured tobacco at Chinkhoma Auction floors fetched as higher as US$3.70 per kg.
 
Tobacco control commission Chief executive Bruce Munthali says Malawi is expected to produce about 16 million kgs of flue cured tobacco which far below market demand. Enditem
