<strong>China: ASTEC-Global Seed Technology Delegation Visits Yuxi China Tobacco Seeds Co.</strong>

A delegation from ASTEC-Global Seed Technology of The Netherlands arrived at Yuxi China Tobacco Seeds Co., Ltd. in Yuxi City of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on March 13 to hold talks with the Chinese side on the content and planning of specific cooperative research, joint application for international patents, etc by Sino-Dutch Tobacco Seeds Technology Joint Laboratory to be established between the two sides.

The delegation was led by Frederick Schreurs, Global Directors of New Business of ASTEC-Global Seed Technology.

At a symposium held during the visit, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions about the platform construction and operation rules of Sino-Dutch Tobacco Seeds Technology Joint Laboratory, exchanged views on hard technical problems in the process of production and processing of tobacco seeds, determined the content of specific cooperative research and key points of research, and formulated the outline of research planning.

Through the visit, the ASTEC-Global Seed Technology delegation brought advanced thinking and ideas to the Chinese side. The two sides discussed and determined the content of specific cooperative research, and held talks on the construction of Sino-Dutch Tobacco Seeds Technology Joint Laboratory and the operation scheme of the joint laboratory, laying a solid foundation for sustained promotion of the joint laboratory and sustained and in-depth cooperation between the two sides.

It was reported that Sino-Dutch Tobacco Seeds Technology Joint Laboratory will be a platform for international cooperation and exchange to be established on the basis of the principle of mutual respect and mutual trust. It will be playing an important role in promoting effective integration of scientific-technological resources of the two sides, acceleration of joint efforts to solve hard problems in the development of cutting edge seed technologies, realization of sharing of scientific-technological research achievements, and increase of the influence of both sides in the international seed field.  Enditem
