China: Qujing City Government Delegation Inspects Work of Tobacco Seedlings Development Source from: Qujing Tobacco Monopoly Administration 02/07/2013 ![]() A government delegation of Qujing City in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province traveled to Shizong County in the city on January 29 to inspect the work of tobacco seedlings development there, in efforts to oversee preparation for fulfilling the leaf tobacco production quotas issued to the city by the tobacco monopoly administrative authorities for the year 2013. The delegation included Zhu Xingyou, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Qujing City Committee, chief of the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party Qujing City Committee and Qujing City Communist Party group member; and Deputy Manager Gao Huafeng and Deputy Inspector Mao Jianshu of Qujing City Tobacco Company. Accompanied by local Communist Party and government leaders including Meng Duanping, secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Shizong County Committee, Shizong County Chief Going Jaiwu and Deputy Chief Yin Yichun, and Manager Wu Jian and Deputy Manager Dong Lixin of Shizong County Tobacco Subcompany, the delegation went deep into the tobacco seedlings development farms respectively in Danfeng Township and Caiyun Township of the county, to conduct on-site inspection over the tobacco seedlings development greenhouses and support facilities, where the delegation carefully examined the process of floating development of tobacco seedlings and implementation of the relevant measures for tobacco seedlings development. During the inspection, Zhu Xingyou patiently asked about the mechanisms for management and operation at the tobacco seedlings development farms, the matching of the scope of tobacco seedlings development with the acreage of farmland planned, opinions of tobacco growers on concentrated large-scale development of tobacco seedlings, etc. In response, the relevant leaders of Shizong County and the tobacco seedlings development farms made careful replies to the questions raised.
