China: New Tobacco, Burley Varieties of Yunnan Pass National-level Appraisal

The Yunyan 105 new tobacco variety independently developed by Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Agriculture Science Research Institute and the Yunbei 3 new burley variety jointly developed by Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Agriculture Science Research Institute and Yunnan Tobacco Binchuan Burley Co., Ltd. passed a stringent technical appraisal at the 2012 annual national tobacco varieties appraisal meeting held in south China’s Haikou City on December 11.

The new tobacco and burley varieties of Yunnan were among a total of eight new tobacco varieties and two new burley varieties appraised at the meeting.
