China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Actively Participates in Establishing Base Units

China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd. in south central China's Hunan Province has actively participated in the establishment of units of an exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply base in Shizong County of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province, known as Caiyun Red Soil Base, in efforts to guarantee the supply of high-quality leaf tobacco for its famous brand cigarette production.

Operated by China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd., Caiyun Red Soil Base is an important base supplying high-quality leaf tobacco for producing cigarettes of such big competitive brands as Furongwang, etc by subsidiaries of China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd. Therefore, China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd. always maintains close contacts with the relevant companies and research institutions in the tobacco-growing region, and actively gets involved in an in-depth way, contributing to promoting the establishment of units of the base in an orderly and practical way. So far, the work of purchasing loose tobacco leaves from units of the base during the current harvest season has been fully completed.

In 2012, the Xiaochangshan leaf tobacco station of units of Caiyun Red Soil Base is responsible for producing and supplying 40,000 dan (2,000 tons) of high-quality leaf tobacco for China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd., involving leaf tobacco production in Red Soil, Lusa and Zhufa Villages. On the basis of sufficiently complying with the characteristics of the demand of China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co. Ltd. for the supply of high-quality leaf tobacco for producing Furongwang brand cigarettes, Shizong County has developed the model of "Order Loose　Tobacco　Leaves　Practice" (OLP). It means practical promotion of management over production and purchase of "order loose tobacco leaves" and intensification of efforts to satisfy tobacco growers, manufacturing enterprises and commercial enterprises, with units of the base as carriers, with factories producing raw materials for famous brands as the basis, with Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) as a driving force, and with promotion of the comprehensive utilization rate of raw materials as a purpose.
