The year 2012 was a period of most intensive investment in the construction in Sichuan of infrastructure facilities for tobacco production, involving a largest number of projects to an unprecedented extent. Until July in the year, the provincial tobacco industry invested some 635 million yuan in completing the construction of road projects, including the construction of more than 212.1 kilometers of roads; 325 kilometers of roads entered into design stage, and other 313 kilometers of roads enters into bidding stage.
It is said that Chonging will construct 2000 kilometers of roads, and 250 kilometers of tractor roads.
Until July in the year, the provincial tobacco industry invested total 2 billion yuan in completing the construction of tobacco facilities projects, including the construction of 5.51 million square meters ponds, construct 16337 kilometers of water pipes; 568 kilometers of irrigation projects for tobacco production, covering more than 1 million mu ( 66600 hectares) of tobacco fields; the construction or transformation of more than 32000 intensive curing barns; the purchase of 4947 sets or units of farm machinery.
