China: HongyunHonghe in Steady Operation of Leaf Tobacco Purchase, Allocation Source from: HongyunHonghe 09/17/2012 ![]() HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest Chinas' tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – has been in steady operation of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation for its cigarette production for the year 2012, since the work of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation was started in late August.
Judged by the current situation, the work of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation by HongyunHonghe has been in a favorable trend of rapid development, with obvious improvement of the quality of tobacco bundles.
Assistant Wang Shaokun to HongyunHonghe CEO said that in efforts to well manage leaf tobacco purchase for the current year, HongyunHonghe held meetings on coordination with commercial enterprises respectively in Kunming, Qujing, Honghe, Baoshan, Wenshan and other cities, unifying understanding, specifying tasks, reaching consensus, and formulating corresponding measures, which in turn contributed to laying a solid foundation for smooth operation of the work of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation for the current year.
It was reported that since the start of the work of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation for the current year, the manufacturing and commercial sectors of the tobacco industry have exerted all efforts to well cooperate and coordinate with each other in doing a good job of leaf tobacco purchase and allocation. As a result, the process of leaf tobacco purchase from local tobacco growers has remained stable, has been well regulated, and has been in a fair order, with the speed of purchase being the fastest for the recent few years. Meanwhile, both the grades and purity of leaf tobacco purchased showed relatively sharp improvement.
By September 9, HongyunHonghe had fulfilled 25.06 percent of the total leaf tobacco purchase quotas for the current year, with fulfillment of 22.67 percent of the quotas for the purchase of leaf tobacco of the Red Big species.
