China: County Chief Inspects Work of State Tobacco Purchase

The head of Luoping County of Qujing City in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province, Lu Pinhong, traveled to Dashuijing, Luoxiong and Banqiao Townships in the county on August 28 to inspect the work of State leaf tobacco purchase from local tobacco growers during the current leaf tobacco harvest and curing season, giving instructions to leaf tobacco purchase stations and holding talks with tobacco growers.

Accompanied by Pu Yong, secretary of the Communist Party Committee and manager of Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany, Lu Pinhong, who doubles as a deputy secretary of the Communist Party’s Luoping County Committee, respectively went to five leaf tobacco purchase points in the three townships to check the work of State leaf tobacco purchase from local tobacco growers in all processes, examine the purchase and storage of leaf tobacco of all grades, and hold talks with workers of the local leaf tobacco purchase stations and tobacco growers. The county chief specifically asked them about the sale and purchase of leaf tobacco, the grading and pricing of leaf tobacco, service provision in leaf tobacco purchase, etc. On the work of State leaf tobacco purchase during the current harvest and curing season, the county chief required the local leaf tobacco purchase stations to do a good job of harvesting and curing leaf tobacco at times of maturity, to ensure that tobacco growers will well cure every barn of leaf tobacco. He also required them to well organize the work of preliminary inspection in leaf tobacco purchase, increase the purity of preliminary inspection, raise the up-to-standard rate of leaf tobacco of all grades, accelerate the process of purchase, conduct State leaf tobacco purchase in a steady way, put an end to big fluctuations in leaf tobacco purchase, well protect the fundamental rights and interests of tobacco growers, and strive to satisfy the government, enterprises and tobacco growers in State leaf tobacco purchase.
