China: HongyunHonghe Chief Inspects Choice of Site for Tobacco Farmstead

Board of Directors Chairman Yao Qingyan of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – led a delegation to Malong County in Qujing City of the province on August 9 to inspect the work of choosing a suitable site for building a new high-quality leaf tobacco farmstead of HongyunHonghe, known as HongyunHonghe Impression Farmstead.

Accompanying the delegation on the inspection were Secretary Zhang Changying of the Communist Party Committee of Malong County, Qujing Cigarette Factory Director Li Lin and Deputy Director Guo Yue, and Malong County Tobacco Subcompany Manager Zhu Shuliang. During the inspection, the delegation traveled to Tongquan Township and Maguohe Township in Malong County to conduct on-site verification and inspection to choose a suitable site for building the tobacco farmstead. Zhang Changying made elaborate introductions on the basic situation of Xintian Village preliminary chosen by HongyunHonghe to build the tobacco farmstead, the natural resources and cultural environment of Malong County, etc. Speaking during the inspection, Yao Qingyan pointed out that Xintian Village boasts convenience in transportation, and favorable natural and cultural environment, which makes it likely for HongyunHonghe to eventually determine the village as the site for building HongyunHonghe Impression Farmstead. HongyunHonghe Impression Farmstead will represent the fine image of HongyunHonghe, and also development progress of the tobacco industry of China, he said. Therefore, comprehensive planning must be made while all sides need to actively coordinate and cooperate with one another, he noted. Through concerted efforts and in sufficient consideration of the ecological and harmonious atmosphere, HongyunHonghe will strive to build the tobacco farmstead into a new milestone for manufacturing enterprises of the tobacco industry of Yunnan, Yao Qingyan emphasized.
