China County Tobacco Subcompany Successful in Curing Untied Leaf Tobacco on Brackets

Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany in Qujing City of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province achieved initial success in adopting the way of curing untied leaf tobacco on brackets, after a first batch of untied leaf tobacco filled on brackets into the curing barn operated by a local tobacco grower at the curing mill in the Double Happiness Tobacco Cooperative in Luoxiong Township of the county was turned out on August 2. According to Zhao Hongming, a professional curing operator with the Production Section of Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany, to cure untied leaf tobacco on brackets is a new way of leaf tobacco curing tried by Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany so far this year. Different from the traditional way of filling leaf tobacco by hanging on rods for curing, the way of curing untied leaf tobacco on brackets only requires the filling of leaf tobacco onto brackets in the property order, with the upside down. It contributes to reducing the processes of arranging and tying up leaves required of curing with hanging on rods. Because it saves time and labor, and reduces the cost of raw materials, adoption of the way of curing untied leaf tobacco on brackets makes it convenient for farmers to grade leaf tobacco, etc. It was reported that in 2012, the unit of the leaf tobacco base in Luoxiong Township of Luoping County has been designated by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration as an area to execute model projects of testing different ways of filling leaf tobacco into curing barns for curing. In efforts to meet the target of reducing manpower and costs, improving quality and increasing efficiency in the process of leaf tobacco curing, Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany has actively made experimental demonstrations of different ways of leaf tobacco filling for curing, in striving to relieve farmers from arduous and highly intensive labor and complicated technological procedures by adopting various new technologies, and to enable farmers to realize tobacco growing in an easy and simple way as early as possible.
