China: City Tobacco Company Delegation Inspects Tobacco Production in County

A delegation from Qujing City Tobacco Company in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province, led by Deputy Manager Zhang Zhengyan of the company, went to Zhanyi County in the city to inspect and guide the work of leaf tobacco production there on July 22, hearing reports and giving instructions on production management. The delegation was accompanied by Manager Gao Song, Deputy Director Zhan Yuze and Deputy Manager Dong Lixin of Zhanyi County Tobacco Subcompany during the inspection. After hearing reports and after conducting on-site verification in tobacco fields in Xiping Township, Zhang Zhengyan expressed the belief that tobacco crops in Zhanyi County are growing well, with sufficient oil content, and that relatively sufficient preparation has been made for leaf tobacco harvest during the forthcoming harvest season. In particular, Zhanyi County has taken the lead in the work of purification of tobacco varieties in Qujing City, he said, expressing full confidence in the work of State leaf tobacco purchase in the county in 2012. On the work in a next period of time, Zhang Zhengyan put forward the requirements that efforts shall be made to do a good job of intertillage management with the focus on improving the structure of leaf tobacco, that judgment of leaf tobacco in State purchase shall be well balanced, that preparation for State leaf tobacco purchase shall be well done in all aspects, that measures for grading the performance of leaf tobacco stations and points shall be particularly specified and well established, that the work of field estimation of output shall be well done, that the quantity of State leaf tobacco purchase from Zhanyi County shall be brought under control, and that efforts shall be made to guarantee smooth fulfillment of all tasks of State leaf tobacco purchase from Zhanyi County.
