China: Tobacco Experts Visits World Tobacco Varieties Plant in Yunnan

A tobacco experts delegation, more than 10 participants from the meeting of International Quality Tobacco Development, visited World Tobacco Varieties Plant in Yunnan on July 23. Visitors were from USA, Japan, Zimbabwe, etc . During their tours, they visited World Tobacco Varieties Plant, Flavor Lab of Yunnan Tobacco Agriculture Institute, Leaf Tobacco Safety Lab, Functional Gene, Microbiological Lab and Tobacco Seeds Company, and learned about how to select good seeds and how to use biotechnology, etc.. All of them sang high praise for the progress of Yunnan tobacco industry achieved in technology innovation in recent years. They agreed that Yunnan tobacco industry led the world in variety breeding, functional gene analysis, safety testing study, flavoring study, biotechnology usage and some key tobacco sectors. Enditem
