Zimbabwe: Dishonest Farmer Fined U.S.$500

A CENTENARY tobacco farmer was on Monday fined US$500 for failing to honour a tobacco growing contract with a local company. Funda Mutimumwe (39) of Eylr Farm was also ordered to restitute US$4800 to the contracting company, KM Financial Solutions. He appeared before Mount Darwin magistrate Mr Godfrey Gwake. Mr Gwake sentenced Mutimumwe to three months in prison, which was set aside on condition that he pays US$500 fine. Another six months were wholly suspended on condition that he restitutes KM Financial Solutions of US$4 800.
