China: Provincial Corporation Sends Delegation to Inspect Generalization, Demonstration of Farm Machinery

Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Corporation in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province sent a delegation led by Deputy Director Zhang Hongyi of its Basic Work Office to Luoping County in Qujing City of the province to inspect the work of generalization and demonstration of farm machinery in tobacco production on June 26-29, holding talks with local officials and farmers, and affirming the use of farm machinery in tobacco production there. Accompanied by Deputy Manager Gao Huafeng of Qujing City Tobacco Company and leading officials of Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany, the delegation conducted on-site inspection, checked data, heard reports, held talks, etc to specifically learn about the purchase, use and generalization of farm machinery in tobacco production at the core area of the zone for demonstration of modernization of leaf tobacco production modes in Luoxiong Township of Luoping County. In the process of inspection, the delegation respectively held talks with relevant personnel of Luoping County Tobacco Subcompany, executive directors of some local tobacco cooperatives and local farmers on the application and generalization of farm machinery in the processes of the transplantation of tobacco seedlings, plastic film mulching, soil preparation, etc at the core area in 2012. After four days of on-site inspection and reports hearing, the delegation affirmed the work of generalization and application of farm machinery in tobacco production in Luoping County, and expressed the belief that Luoping County, in the process of full-scale promotion of the execution of projects of farm machinery coverage in tobacco production in the county, has actively explored new ways of enabling local tobacco growers to become able to buy, use, generalize and manage farm machinery in tobacco production in generating higher efficiency, which has in turn contributed to powerfully promoting the equipment, operation, scientific-technological development, service and management of farm machinery in tobacco production in Luoping County to higher levels.
