Growers Protest in Sofia

Bulgarian tobacco growers are staging a protest rally in the capital, Sofia, today, according to a Novinite story. The growers were planning to gather in front of the presidential office to demonstrate against amendments to the Tobacco Act, which ban the sale of what Novinite referred to as 'hollow cigarettes or casings'. The tobacco growers want the president to veto the amendment so as to help maintain the current level of jobs in the tobacco sector and to protect investments in the country's tobacco business.
