China: Large Plant Origin Bio-Pesticides Production Base to be Built in Henan

A high-profile ceremony was held in Sheqi County in north central China's Henan Province recently to lay the cornerstone for the construction of Henan Shuntian Biological Natural Plants Extraction Industrialization Project, which will be the largest tobacco plant origin bio-pesticides production base in China. It was reported that Henan Shuntian Biological Natural Plants Extraction Industrialization Project will be China's largest plant origin bio-pesticides production base that will use leaf tobacco as raw materials, that will make extraction with the sub-critical fluid extraction technology, and that will develop and produce bio-pesticides with the nicotine and Solanesol extracted from leaf tobacco. The project is designed to apply the sub-critical fluid extraction technology to extract target product of effective ingredients from leaf tobacco. The product extracted (extractum) will be used to develop low-residual, low-toxicity bio-pesticides through scientific formulation. Then, biological pharmaceutical intermediates (nicotine and Solanesol) will be produced through application of isolation and purification technologies. Moreover, the plant residues from the production of nicotine and Solanesol will be mixed for fertilization with oxygen, to turn them into highly efficient and safe bio-mixed organic fertilizer.
