China: Yunnan Qujing Held the Tobacco Purchasing and GAP Pilot Project Symposia

The Tobacco Purchasing and GAP Pilot Project Symposia in 2012 held in Luliang by Qujing Tobacco Subcompany in Yunnan Province. Zhang Chengyan, vice manager of Qujing Tobacco Subcompany, officials from Tobacco Production Department, Technology center, Financial Department and Tobacco Operation Department attended the meeting. And related workers from HongyunHonghe Group, China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corporation, China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Corporation, China Tobacco Jiangsu Industrial Corporation, China Tobacco Guangdong Industrial Corporation also invited to the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Mao Jianshu, director of Tobacco Production Department. Zhang Chengyan first gave a brief introduction to the related work of tobacco purchasing and GAP programme. About next phase, he required all subcompanies should agree on the purchasing price with manufacturers, balance the benefits between governments and tobacco farmers, and ensure success of the trial operation in three counties: Luliang, Shizong and Luoping.
