Yunnan Shizong Promotes Integrated Pest Management in Tobacco Fields

Shizong county of Yunnan province has adopted integrated pest management in 150000 mu (10000 hectares ) tobacco fields. Shizong has improved the integrated pest management. During this crop year, 5 observation stations and 5 core model areas has been estabalished in Danfeng town and Caiyun town in Shizong county. Model areas cover 6700 mu (446.66 hectares) tobacco fields, and will influence about 150000 mu (10000 hectares ) tobacco fields in Shizong county. Shizong Tobacco Monopoly Administration has established 5 groups of breeding shacks for Aphidius gifuensis Ashmead. Aphidius gifuensis Ashmead will be bred from June 5. 25 of extermination lamps of solar energy have been installed in tobacco fields. Microorganisms have been used in these core model areas.Enditem
