China: Virginia Tobacco Transplantation Completed in Sichuan Province

Virginia tobacco transplantation has completed in Sichuan Province until May 20. The total transplanted areas were 1.657 million mu (10.739 thousand hectares), among them 1.6109 million mu (10.739 thousand hectares) of Virginia tobacco, burley tobacco, 40600 mu (2706 hectares), sun-cured tobacco, 5000 mu (333.33 hectares). This year, Sichuan Tobacco Monopoly Administration required tobacco farmers to transplant tobacco earlier than last year, in order to give a longer growing time for tobacco in field and improve the quality of tobacco. South part of Sichuan completed transplantation before May 5, with 8 days earlier than last year.Enditem
