Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in central China's Henan Province - got a good report card on its business operation and marketing in 2001 by generating a record 20.97 billion yuan (3.28 billion U.S. dollars) in taxes and profits by December 1. In particular, the annual commercial sales income of cigarettes of the competitive Yellow Golden Leaf brand of the corporation reached a high of 20.05 billion yuan (3.13 billion U.S. dollars) by December 1. The 2011-2015 five-year period is a crucial period of time for Henan Province to step up its economic development in the central China zone. Accordingly, Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation preliminarily plans to move up scheduled fulfillment of its 251 Yellow Golden Leaf development target to the end of 2013 from 2015. Namely, Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation will strive to increase its annual cigarette sales volume to over 2 million cases (100 billion cigarettes) and its annual sales value to over 50 billion yuan (7.8 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2013, with the single-case amount of taxes and profiting reaching over 10,000 yuan (1,563 U.S. dollars). Besides, the corporation also plans to increase its annual amount of taxes and profits reaching some 35 billion yuan (5.5 billion U.S. dollars) by 2013, with an annual increment of some 6 billion yuan (938 million U.S. dollars) in taxes and profits over the next three years.
