India's Tobacco Exports Still on A High

The value of India's tobacco exports grew by almost 390 per cent between 2001-02, when it stood at US$189.04 million, and 2010-11, by which time it had reached US$923.94 million, according to a story in the latest issue of the BBM Bommidala Group newsletter quoting Tobacco Board figures. Exports in this financial year are expected to remain at the level of those of 2010-11. During 2010-11, 252,298 tons of tobacco and tobacco products were exported to more than 100 countries, mainly in Western and Eastern Europe, South East Asia and Africa. Enditem
