Farm Invasions Intensify in Zimbabwe Source from: Tobacco Reporter 11/08/2011 Charles Taffs, head of Zimbabwe's Commercial Farmers Union, on Friday warned that farm invasions were intensifying across the country "with orders coming from high up in the government," according to a story by Alex Bell for the Zimbabwean, relayed by the TMA.
Taffs said a couple in Mashonaland West had had to flee their farmhouse after a group of about 40 invaders broke into their property on November 3.
There had not been any government effort to intervene, he said.
If the invasions continued, he added, the country was heading for disaster since it had no chance without agriculture. Enditem
