Chinese City Establishes Large Model Base of Modern Tobacco Agriculture

Ruijin City in east China's Jiangxi Province invested a line of 44.7685 million yuan (6.9 million U.S. dollars) in 2011 in establishing the Rentian Model Base of Modern Tobacco Agriculture in the city, which is the largest of its kind in the whole of Jiangxi Province. It was reported that after its entry into operation, the model base will provide irrigation for 21,000 mu (1,400 hectares) of tobacco fields in the city - 6,330 mu (422 hectares) of dry tobacco fields and 14,670 mu (978 hectares) of tobacco fields that need restoration or improvement. It is the largest model base of modern tobacco agriculture with the largest amount of investment in Jiangxi Province. Enditem
