Leaf Prices to Rise by Consent

Floor prices of various types of leaf tobacco will be raised in the Philippines by as much as 51 per cent during the next two years to ensure a 25 per cent increase in growers' income, according to a PIA Information Service story quoting the National Tobacco Administration. NTA administrator, Edgardo D. Zaragoza, said the plan to increase prices for the crop years 2012 and 2013 had resulted from a tripartite conference between the agency, growers and leaf buyers. Enditem
