China: Provincial Companies Sign Pact on Establishment of Exclusive Bases

Hunan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in south central China's Hunan Province and Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration (Tobacco Company) in southwest China's Yunnan Province have recently signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in establishment of units of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production bases in Yunnan in 2011-2015. According to the agreement, the two sides reached consensus on year-on-year increase in the supply of leaf tobacco for Hunan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation by Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Company and planning for establishment of units of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production bases for the production of cigarettes of the Furongwang and Baisha brands in the 2011-2015 five-year period. The two sides also agreed to develop all-round cooperation in multiple fields, further raise the efficiency of distribution of resources of units of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production bases in Yunnan, strengthen the capacity of Yunnan to guarantee the supply of high-quality leaf tobacco for Hunan, and promote coordinated development of cigarette brands of Hunan and high-quality leaf tobacco production by Yunnan.
