China: Jiangxi Provincial Tobacco Industry Puts Line Into Operation New Redrying Project

The tobacco industry of east China's Jiangxi Province put into operation on August 31 a newly built leaf tobacco threshing and redrying project known as Jiangxi Gannan Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company, which boasts an advanced 12,000kg/h leaf tobacco threshing and redrying line. With a total floor space of about 100,000 square meters, Jiangxi Gannan Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company covers an area of 400 mu (26.67 hectares) and has 450 million yuan (70 million U.S. dollars) in registered capital. It is capable of threshing and redrying 600,000 dan to 800,000 dan (30,000 tons to 40,000 tons) of leaf tobacco annually. The construction of Jiangxi Gannan Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company was a priority project of Jiangxi Province. Jiangxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration established the preparatory office for establishing Jiangxi Gannan Leaf Tobacco Redrying Company in 2008.
