Uganda: Batu Fights Food Insecurity

BRITISH American Tobacco will this year distribute free hybrid seeds to its registered farmers to promote food security. Solomon Muyita, the corporate and regulatory affairs coordinator, said the annual sh200m initiative dubbed "Food after Tobacco" will start off with the distribution of free hybrid maize seeds. "Our target is to issue at least two kilogrammes of maize seed to each of the 30,000 affiliated farmers in the mid-western and West Nile regions," Muyita said.
