China: Provincial Corporation Starts Full-Scale Transplantation of Tobacco Seedlings

Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in central China's Henan Province held an on-the-spot meeting in Nanhua County of Chuxiong City in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on April 26 to start full-scale transplantation for the current year of tobacco seedlings from greenhouses onto units of an exclusive tobacco production base operated it in Nanhua County.

At the site of transplantation, technicians with Nanhua County Tobacco Branch Company, tobacco experts with Henan Agricultural University and personnel of Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation stationed at the exclusive tobacco production base offered in-depth guidance to local tobacco growers. The transplantation for the current year is in strict compliance with the relevant provisions of the Production Technology Application Program of Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation. All the tobacco seedlings in transplantation are strong ones developed through flotation at greenhouses. Meanwhile, the plots involved are in a unified size while the methodology of transplantation used is scientific and serious, which is beneficial to raising the rate of survival of tobacco seedlings.
