Bulgaria Looking to Switch Growers Out of Tobacco

Bulgaria's Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, has vowed that the government will come up with a plan to find other means of employment for the country's tobacco producers, according to a Novinite story.

Speaking about a draft bill for the revision of the 2010 state budget, Djankov told Bulgarian National Radio that the bill would provide, among other things, BGN116 million for subsidies to tobacco growers.
Djankov, who believes that the Bulgarian economy is starting to grow and that the end of the economic crisis is in sight, has called upon companies and consumers to start thinking about increasing their spending. Enditem
