Delhi Tobacco Auction Building Sold

The former home of Delhi's golden leaf will now have an equally golden replacement - the spud. Norfolk Select Potato Company has finalized its deal to purchase the Delhi Tobacco Auction Exchange Hall. The 65,000-square facility will be the new home of the emerging potato packing business that plans to both wash and package its crop out of the Argyle Avenue facility. Norfolk Select Potato Company has only been in business for the last year and a half. It is the culmination of three partners who grow 450 acres of potatoes in fields from Burford through to Langton. Last year, the growers produced 13 varieties of white, yellow and red potatoes that are sold to chain stores through a broker. The future potato packaging plant will also house ginseng. Enditem
