At the first symposium held in Qujing City, Vice-President Li Heng of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group said that Qujing is an important raw materials supply base for HongyunHonghe, and that under quotas issued by the State, HongyunHonghe will purchase up to 1 million dan (50,000 tons) of leaf tobacco from Qujing in 2009 alone.
To do a good job of leaf tobacco purchase and inspection for storage, HongyunHonghe will adhere to the guidelines of "following international standards, unifying criteria, realizing stability in purchase, intensifying efforts to increase purity, raising the up-to-standard rate of leaf tobacco for production, and striving to satisfy all tobacco growers, the government, leaf tobacco traders and the tobacco industry," according to Li.
In accordance with the policy of plantation-by-plantation purchase and localization of leaf tobacco storage, all leaf tobacco purchase and allocation by HongyunHonghe will be conducted separately, and the group will closely cooperate with the local tobacco company in well defining samples for leaf tobacco purchase, in order to guarantee the quality of leaf tobacco purchased, Li said.
At the second and third symposiums held on August 7 and 10, similar arrangements were made. Enditem
