China: Burley Production Model Project Passes Inspection for Technical Acceptance Source from: Enshi City 08/10/2009 A model project for standardized production of burley newly built in Enshi City in central China's Hubei Province has recently passed an inspection for technical acceptance by a panel of experts led by Director Fan Li of China Tobacco Standardization Research Center and leaders of the Department of Science and Education of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA).
In the inspection, the six-member panel of experts went to the Xiangcheng Modern Tobacco Agriculture Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd. and State-run leaf tobacco purchase stations based in three local villages in Enshi City to conduct on-site examination for technical acceptance.
The panel of experts managed to scrutinize the archival data collected from different levels in Enshi, including the burley comprehensive standardization system in Enshi.
After conducting examination item by item, the panel of experts unanimously agreed that the model project for standardized production of burley in Enshi City had met the relevant technical standards of the State, and announced that the project was technically accepted. Enditem
