Selling Season Opens With 1,200 bales Source from: Tobacco Reporter 05/11/2009 Zimbabwe's tobacco selling season opened on Thursday with about 1,200 bales being offered and prices ranging from below US$1.90 per kg to US$5.00 per kg, according to a report in the Zimbabwe Herald.
A Nasdaq report put the range of prices over Harare's three floors at US$2.30-4.50 per kg.
About 42 million kg of tobacco are expected to pass through the auction floors this year. Enditem
