Minimum Prices set in Malawi Source from: Tobacco Reporter 03/18/2009 Malawi's president, Bingu wa Mutharika, yesterday announced higher minimum tobacco prices for the 2009 auction season, according to a Reuters report.
Mutharika, who farms tobacco, set the minimum price for Burley at US$2.15 per kg, and that for flue-cured at US$3.09 per kg.
Last year, he set the minimum prices at US$1.85 per kg and US$2.15 per kg respectively. Enditem
