Universal Announces Environmental Certification Source from: Tobacco Reporter 03/16/2009 Universal Leaf North America (ULNA) yesterday announced that its US facilities had been awarded ISO 14001:2004 certification in acknowledgment of the company's environmental management system.
The ISO 14000 series of international environmental management standards, first introduced in 1996, provides a common framework for managing environmental issues. It is integrated into ULNA's Quality Management System that was certified to ISO 9001 in February 2002.
Clay Frazier, president of ULNA, said that yesterday's announcement strengthened the integrated approach to ULNA's business processes. Enditem
