Tobacco Farmers Sneak Peak at Licensing Program 02/16/2009 Area tobacco farmers are getting a sneak peak at the details of the tobacco licensing program on the Ontario Flue Cured Tobacco Growers Marketing Board website under the farmers log in section. Farmers will only be eligable if they have not participated in the 2005 Adjustment Assistance Program, the Tobacco Transition Program or if they do not have a criminal record for smuggling or tax evasion. Eligable farmers will need to complete an Application for Licence to Produce and provide the board with evidence that they have a buyer for the entire crop before a licence can be produced. Farmers will also have to provide the board with proof of all movement of harvested tobacco either to storage, sale or through destruction. Farmers can pick up information packages from the Head Office and the Delhi Exchange today from 9 till noon as well as Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-4pm before the meeting Wednesday night at 7.
