Stabilization Gets A New Name Source from: Tobacco Reporter 02/02/2009 The US' Flue Cured Tobacco Cooperative Stabilization Corp has changed its name to the U.S. Tobacco Cooperative, Inc (USTC).
The name change is said to reflect the changing role of this tobacco growers' co-operative, which was established in 1946 as the administrator of the US government's price support program but is now a producer and seller of products containing member-grown tobacco.
Currently USTC operates six marketing centers located throughout the five-state growing area, and has its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tommy Bunn is president of USTC, Albert Johnson is chairman of the board and Mike Lynch is senior vice president in charge of sales and marketing. Enditem
