Tobacco Farmers to Get Paid

Tobacco farmers who have not received any transitional payment will get RM300 each. An estimated 20,000 tobacco growers are expected to benefit from the aid, A National Tobacco Board (NTB) spokesperson said a total of 16,600 farmers have already received their transitional payment in the first and second category. Farmers from 2004, who fall in the first category received RM5,000 each while those from 1999 to 2003 received RM3,000 each. Those who fall in the third category can get the forms at the nearest NTB office from Sunday onwards. The completed forms must be returned to the NTB office before or on March 15. Enditem
